We met as early as 8.30am so that we could pop by the hawker centre near Harbour Front MRT Station for breakfast.
That's us looking fresh on the train bound for harbour front station.
Eileen ordered wanton mee and I ordered shredded chicken horfun. My dear friend's yummy wanton mee only costs $2.50 and the portion is pretty big. What a steal right?!
After feeling our stomachs, we finally hop onto the tram which brought us to the Waterfront station where USS is situated.
That's us with the symbolic USS globe. :)
Once we stepped into USS, we were brought into an area which is all decked out in Hollywood style. This area is decorated with class and glam. There were high end make up boutique, fanciful baker and from the moment I step foot in there, I felt like I was in another world. The structures are beautiful, the props are colourful and loud, I was simply brought into the world where "happily ever after" is practically compulsory.
We came across the merchandise store that features Betty Boop and we began trying out all the crazy looking hats that were on display outside.
Hats..
more hats..
even more hats..
still hats..
It has been so long since I felt so carefree. The scorching sun, the opinions of random strangers, my worries and all that suddenly ceased to matter. We stopped to take pictures with whatever that caught our attention. Before we knew it, we arrived at the Sci-fi region which has a recently added feature - TRANSFORMERS! I am definitely a transformer fan who happens to favour Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee. I LOVE Optimus Prime because his noble words never fail to bring a tear or two to my eyes.
My favourite - Bumble Bee!
Needless to say, both of us tried the very highly anticipated Transformer Ultimate 3D Ride. Boy, it was so exciting! We were supposedly "seated" on this recruit (rookie) and came "face to face" with Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee and Megatron. The images are pretty real! I genuinely felt like I was seated on the robot that will dip, accelerate and FALL! I actually caught this lady in front of me reaching out in an attempt to touch Optimus Prime's face!! Like seriously! *grin* That's the beauty of being in a themepark, isn't it? It's the best time for one to act silly and crazy.
The exotic-looking mascots just outside the entrade to the Transformer 3D ride
Both of us failing to look fierce. How to?! We are both so kind. :P
Being ignorant, we excitedly went ahead for the mummy roller coaster ride and *ahem* the lousy me just had to succumb to motion sickness! *Sigh* The ride was super fun and scary! I totally digged the ride and if not for the fact that I suffer from motion sickness, I would just tried that ride again. Anyway, I vomitted once and had to rest after this ride. My girl friend is the sweetest friend ever. I felt really bad because I thought my condition sort of dampened the fun mood but she did not whine even ONCE. She waited patiently for me to feel better and I just LOVE YOU, Eileen. :) Haha.
Anyway, we took alot of photos and it's impossible for me to upload the almost 300 pictures that were taken so here are a few selected ones that we took in the Egyptian zone.
The two of us at the entrance to the scary roller coaster ride.
HAHAHA! That's me after motion sickness!!
I was trying hard to pretend I was feeling ok. :P
Despite the hiccup, we proceeded to the area featuring "The Lost World". This zone features the Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure that I really like but according to Eileen, this was a pretty "normal" ride. Anecdote aside, the two of us were speculating just how expensive USS will sell a piece of poncho that, in my humble opinion, would be essential for this water ride if you are not looking to become drenched. We thought each piece would retail at about $8-$9, considering the fact that a piece of 70 cents prata would cost approx $5 there. To our pleasant surprise, the poncho only costs $3. :P
We were so surprised that the egg could be "lifted up". :)
Up next: Far Far Away featuring Shrek and Princess Fiona, not the forget Donkey and the oh-so-innocent Puss in Boots! Even my brother is a fan of Shrek the movie and this is definitely a feat. He is not exactly a "movie-man" and it's no surprise that the total number of movies that he has watched in his lifetime caould actually be counted by two hands. So can you imagine that 3 (i mean THREE) Shrek movies are listed in his small track record?! Sorry, I know I am being REALLY drama and all but I was having too much fun exaggerating to stop. :P
I shall simply let the following pictures do the talking.
I love the way Eileen is smiling here. Sorry Donkey but her grin totally out-shine yours.
Haha! I look like a freak in this one. Big head! Perhaps the Shrek cup I was holding has mystical powers?
Look at this beautiful shot taken by BFF. Love the beautiful background.
I LOVE CHURROS!! Craving for it as I am typing now. :(
A super vain camwhore shot.
Shrek and Princes Fiona!~~
It was time to "Move it, Move it" after this. :) Nothing very exciting happened while we were in Madagascar (as if we were really there but you know what I mean right?). We tried this boring boat ride which we didn't realise we could take pictures and had a go at the Merry-G-Round. However, we had a whole lot of fun queuing up to take pictures with the Mascots who put up a mini dance perfomance to entertain the crowd under scorching heat! How professional and demanding right?!
The performance. :) Move it please~~
I look as if I was making fun of the penguin's stomach but I swear I had no such intention!!
Sexeh Gloria.
I can't remember his name but he is cute nonetheless!
One of my favorite pictures! <3
I really like this hat but I didn't buy in the end because it's too cute to wear on usual days.
After this, we basically visited all the zones once and so we began a leisure stroll around the themepark to take more pictures. That's when we met more mascots! *YAY*
Look at how feminine Marilyn Monroe and Eileen look. Ok then look at me. Don't I ooze masculinity? HAHA!
Notice how the two of us were GENUINELY laughing?
I LOVE this MR Kungfu Panda to death!~ Usually, each group is only permitted to one shot but we managed to take 3 (listen it's THREE) shots. :P Yea, I know I am bragging. After the first shot, Mr Panda actually clamped us tighter to his sides and pushed both of us nearer to the camera forcing his co-workers to take a second shot. However, it didn't stop here. He actually continued to push us even closer to the camera for a third shot! That's when we totally began giggling and this explains the picture above.
Anyway, the kind panda actually wanted a forth shot but his co-worker had to put a stop. :P I love you Mr Panda!~ I feel like such a previledged member.
More random pictures of us goofing around. :)
Overall, I had a fabulous time hanging out with my best friend. The place was fun but it was the company that I had that truly matters. My best friend is the best and as cliche as it sounds, friends forever!~ We should go back there again and this time round, with the other VASes too. I shall end the post with my favourite picture from the LOT of photos we took. :)
